The history of...Mikkeller

Mikkeller beers are brewed by Mikkeller in Copenhagen, Denmark. Homebrewers Mikel Borg Bjergsø and Kristian Klarup Keller experimented in their kitchens for two and half years before they sent their first beer to be produced on a larger scale in 2005. They don’t have their own brewery and instead work with several local breweries.

Their international breakthrough came in 2006 when their Beer Geek Breakfast, a stout with coffee beans added, achieved a high rating on the international beer forum, RateBeer. A brewer without a brewery, but with a gold medal. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
