Step into the captivating tale of To Øl Brewery, a journey that kicked off in 2010, right in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. Picture this: two school mates, united by their profound love for beer, set out on a daring adventure to transform their passion into something extraordinary. Thus, To Øl was born – simply meaning "beer" in Danish, symbolizing their dedication to the art of brewing.
The story behind the craft
To Øl, a Danish craft beer powerhouse. Their mission? Crafting contemporary beers that span the spectrum, from potent and provocative to fresh and floral. They create brews that are hoppy, balanced, and complex. The beers vary from light, dark, strong, or simple beer, so something for everybody.
Having started out getting beers produced in Belgium in 2015 To Øl opened the brewpub BRUS at Nørrebro, enabling the brand to make local, fresh and new innovative styles. And that experience created a desire to be able to do more!
The brewpub is still open today pushing out new weekly releases of drinkable beer innovation!
To Øl City (Brewery)
In 2019, To Øl City was established by repurposing the former Beauvais factory, which had previously been owned by Orkla.
Funny story! They set up the pot destillers by using the old ketchup tanks. Not only are they innovative in creating craft beer but also reorganising a food factory into a beer brewery.
Beer releases
To Øl will always treat beer enthusiasts with new beers coming out every month. Give or take, +20 new beers will arrive every year so never a dull moment following the brand development.
Awards
Only two years after launching To Øl by, they'd earned a coveted spot on Ratebeer's list of the Top 100 best breweries in the world. Fast forward to 2014, and To Øl proudly claimed the title of the world's 9th best brewery.
