The history of...Brouwerij De Koninck

De Koninck is brewed by the De Koninck Brewery, located in Antwerp, Belgium. On 26th June 1827, Joseph Henricus De Koninck bought the De Plaisante Hof Hotel in Antwerp. When the poor man died shortly after, his widow

married Johannes Vervliet and repurchased the building in 1833 so it could be converted into a brewery. Only after Vervliet’s stepson, Carolus De Koninck, gained ownership of the brewery was the name changed to that of the original owner.
