Chimay Brouwerij
Chimay beers are brewed in a Trappist monastery (the Notre-Dame de Scourmont Abbey) in Henegouwen, Belgium. During the summer of 1850, a small group of monks settled on the wild plateau of Scourmont near Chimay. Next to the monastery, they built a farm, a brewery and a cheesery. The Scourmont Abbey was at the forefront of various economic activities which accelerated the region’s development.
