1. Pre-chill your 2L kegs
Pre-chill your 2L kegs for 6-10 hours before you want to load your beer into The SUB. This means as soon as you are ready to use The SUB your beer is chilled and you can start tapping at optimum temperature, this will reduce time. The indicator on the keg will turn blue when ready. We also suggest plugging in your appliance at least an hour before desired serve time.
*Please note, we advise you not to put your kegs in the freezer! This could damage your keg or beer.
2. Attach the tube
This step is very important!
Remove the plastic dispensing lid from your keg. Inside you will find the connector tube. Take this tube and insert it into the mouth of your 2L keg. It is imperative you push hard until you hear it click into place. Firmly check the valve, to see it has been inserted and attached securely before loading your keg into The SUB. It can cause damage to the kegs and machine if this is not done correctly.
Our Craft kegs are a few millimetres smaller than our regular kegs. We include a plastic clip with them to ensure it fits comfortably. Please make sure that you have placed the clip on the keg - simply insert the tube into your keg, then slide the clip over the top of the neck of the keg. This will help the keg to fully activate the pressurising mechanism. You can also remove this clip once you have finished the keg and re-use it on your next one if needed.
3. Insert the 2L keg
For The SUB Compact
Open the lid on the top of the cylindrical unit, lift the cover over the tap and insert the keg into The SUB. You want to put the bottom end into the chamber first.

3. Insert the 2L keg
For The SUB
Open the door of the cylindrical unit, lift the tap cover and insert the keg into The SUB. You want to put the bottom end into the chamber first. It should it in, snugly but comfortably.

4. Connect the tube
For The SUB Compact
Feed the keg’s tube through the pouring end of the tap head. Place the tube's spout inside the tap head and click it back into position.

Open the cover of the tap and lead the tube attached to the 2L keg along the backside of the tap head. Place the tube's spout inside the tap head. Make sure the tube is firmly attached on both ends and close the tap cover.
5. Close The SUB
Close and lock the door of your SUB. The kegs should sit comfortably in the refrigerated unit, you shouldn't have to force the door. If the door does not close easily, check the keg has been inserted properly. It may not be pushed far enough into the chamber.
N.B - Locking is only applicable for The SUB
6. Prepare the pump
After loading your keg hold down the handle for a second and then release the handle to stop pouring. When the light on your machine has turned green your beer is ready to enjoy.
