Now that the sun is shining and summer is well and truly here, we thought it was high time to share our tips on how to enjoy a summer beer at their best on your balcony or in the garden in the coming months.
How can I bring the pub home?
Having a garden is nice these days, but it does take some effort, and they are often few and far between if you are renting. As a beer lover, it is of course mainly about the beer itself, but like any good pub garden, the atmosphere is a key part of any enjoyable outdoor drinking experience. Have you considered the following?
Add a swinging chair or a sitting hammock for a compact relaxation option. A portable BBQ is a great addition to any outdoor space, as you can enjoy all the luxuries of a garden without the space. Fairy lights! These can be battery powered or plugged into an extension cord to truly bring the pub home.
What beers suit summer?
Arguably all beers can be drunk in summer - if you are craving a stout this time of year, we aren't going to stop you! But some styles are brewed with the hot weather in mind, and so might be worth trying if you are looking for something to enjoy in your own little pub garden.
Lagers
Lagers are of course many people's drink for the summer (and all year round)! Their drinkability, variety and low ABV make them ideal for enjoying in the summer months - and make up the majority of our selection at Beerwulf. To find out more about the Lager style, click here.
IPAs
IPAs are the hazy cousin of Lagers and if you love beers that pack a punch of flavour, this is certainly the style for you. Brewed with additional hops and herbs, the natural notes of these brews have made them famous around the world.
Ciders
Cider is made to be enjoyed in summer; both refreshing and fruity, what could be more perfect? We offer a couple of ciders on the SUB, Strongbow Dark Fruits and Orchard Thieves, so if you are hosting a cider lover, you can pour them a favourite with ease.
Does the SUB work outside?
Simply put - yes! Your SUB can work anywhere with a plug nearby, but we recommend you keep it in the shade for the optimal cooling experience. Here is an special tip for how to keep the party going when your machine is outside - make sure to keep your SUB kegs in the fridge overnight before enjoying them!
This allows them to cool to the proper temperature and makes the chilling process when you load them into your beer tap much quicker so you can get straight to pouring.
