The history of...Tiger

Tiger Pilsner has been brewed in Singapore since 1932 and is part of the Heineken portfolio. The Tiger brand is so popular in and around Singapore that it even has books named after it - in exchange, the writers receive free beer.

Tiger beer

Tiger beer is a world-famous Singaporean beer that reflects the cultural melting pot of its homeland: Asian, Australian and European influences fuse together here to create a full-bodied, accessible, premium pilsner. The brewing process takes over 500 hours. Light in colour and tropical in taste, Tiger beer is refreshing and crisp, and best served chilled. It pairs nicely with sweeter spicy dishes, and can often be found served in UK curry houses.

Accomplishments

Since winning its first international beer medal back in 1939, accolades have been plenty for Tiger beer. Its 1998 BIIA’S World’s Best Lager Beer award win propelled the beer into the global consciousness, and by its 75th anniversary in 2007, Tiger beer had 30 breweries in 12 countries and a presence in more than 60 countries. In 2015, it became the first ever solar powered brewery.
