The history of...Thornbridge
Named after its birthplace, the grounds of Thornbridge Hall in Bakewell, Thornbridge started up in 2005 with a desire to produce high quality beers using only the best natural ingredients. With an ethos based on innovation, passion and knowledge, the brewery has since grown immeasurably in reputation as well as size: it has moved into a state-of-the-art 30 barrel brewery and won over 350 awards for its beers on both a national and international level.
Thornbridge beer is classic yet modern. Having started initially by focusing on a range of traditional recipes for cask beers, after a number of successful years of growth it became clear that the range of Thornbridge beer had to be expanded to meet demand.
Try I Love You Will You Marry Me, a blonde ale named after a line of graffitti in Sheffield and brewed with strawberries to give a natural sweet, sticky flavour, or sip the famous session IPA, AM:PM, which neatly balances pineapple, tangerine, guava and passion fruits to create an ale that’s easy and sessionable.
The new brewery and bottling line was opened at Bakewell in September 2009, though the original Thornbridge Hall location is still in operation, developing new seasonal and specialty beers.
