Erdinger is the most popular Weizen beer in the world. It’s brewed by Erdinger Weissbräu in the German city of Erding.
From the very first moment it was brewed, Erdinger beer has enjoyed popularity. The Weizen beer was an immediate success, both nationally and internationally. Italy and Austria were the first countries to be introduced to this beer style, but today it’s consumed in more than 90 countries. Erdinger Weissbräu brews only Weizen beer. Never change a winning team, as they say. To build on this success they added an alcohol-free Weizen as a new thirst-quenching drink for sports enthusiasts. This beer is still the world’s number one in its category.
The brewery is a prominent advocate of the German ‘Reinheitsgebot’ (Beer Purity Law) and brews exclusively wheat beers using the pure and natural ingredients of water, malted wheat and barley, hops and yeast.
Pouring an Erdinger
Since Erdinger Weissbräu is a fan of tradition, it has its own customary way of pouring the beer into the glass. According to the brewery, the perfect way of pouring Erdinger is to swirl the last bit of beer at the bottom of the bottle before pouring it into the glass. This helps dislodge all the yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Pour it into the glass and the yeast will mix in with the rest of the beer, making your Erdinger extra special and uber delicious.
